THE PERFORMING
ARTS IN OLD TOWN NEWHALL
Old
Town Newhall offers two distinctive live theaters, the Canyon Theatre
Guild and the Repertory East Playhouse, both of which are located along
Main Street in the heart of town. Both theatres are poised for another
dynamic year, offering distinctive performances from some of the area’s
most talented actors.

HISTORY ON DISPLAY IN OLD TOWN NEWHALL
Newhall has long been home to an impressive collection of historic sites and resources. Two impressive museums add to Newhall's cultural offerings and are open to the public for guided tours, as well as, play host to various special events throughout the year. The William S. Hart Park and Museum is a 265-acre ranch and mansion with an impressive collection of Western art, Native American artifacts and mementos of early Hollywood from the home of silent film star William S. Hart. Heritage Junction, located inside Hart Park, is home to several historic buildings including the 1887 Saugus Train Station, which houses the SCV Historical Society's museum.

SEEING STARS
IN OLD TOWN NEWHALL
The
Walk of Western Stars is Old Town Newhall’s own walk of fame. The
Walk of Stars began in 1981 to honor the legends of western film, television
and radio who have contributed to America’s heritage since 1900.
The Old West comes alive again each year when Western stars are immortalized
in bronze and terrazzo tile on the streets of Old Town Newhall during
the City of Santa Clarita’s Cowboy Festival.

COMMUNITY CENTER
In
January 2006, the City of Santa Clarita opened a new, state-of-the-art
17,000 square foot Community Center in Newhall. The Community Center is
a focal point in the neighborhood, providing recreational and education
opportunities for youth and families in a fun and safe environment. Programs
available at the facility include boxing, Ballet Folklórico, tutoring,
a teen group, sporting activities and much more.
The Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street in Old Town Newhall.
